Separate Board To Conduct Compulsory Examination For Class Five Students In Rajasthan
In an announcement, Rajasthan State Education Minister Vasudev Devnani said that from this year onwards the class five examination in the state will be conducted by a separate board. The examination will begin from March 30. The exam will have same question paper for all class five students along the lines of 10th board examinations. In case a student does not clear the examination, they will get another chance to clear the exam after a month.
The examination will be compulsory for students and those who clear it will only be allowed to advance to the next class. Currently students are not failed up to fifth class. The state has been conducting a separate examination for class eighth students for the past three years.
According to Press Trust of India, Education Minister Vasudev Devnani said that the Rajasthan state government has also decided to appoint a Panchayat Extension Officer in every Gram Panchayat from the next session which starts from June 17. This decision has been taken to improve the quality of education in rural areas of the state. Currently there is only one Block Education Officer working in every Panchayat Samiti of over 9800 gram panchayats in the state.
The education minister also said that the education department has recommended the setting up of a State Council of Education, Research & Training (SCERT) which will work along the lines of NCERT. He also informed that the school uniforms in all government schools will be changed from the new session. Highlighting the plans for the new academic session, the education department will distribute 3 lakh bicycles in March to female students studying in class 9th. It will also distribute 27,000 laptops to students who top 8th, 10th, and 12th board examination in the state. The department has also proposed a new Education Law 2017 to the State Government.
