The nature of secondary education is rapidly changing across the world. New curricula and new approaches to teaching and learning; the changing social conditions which children and young people are growing up within; the technical and environmental challenges we all face: all these produce extraordinary pressures on the values, purposes and role of secondary education. This is as true for schools in urbanized inner cities as it for those in wealthy neighborhoods or those in remote, rural communities.

Introduction

Compendium is the conference for Principals and Head teachers of secondary schools around the globe. In our previous conferences, we examined the difficult national climates and their solutions, also the pressures on secondary education and identified the ways in which secondary schools have identified local solutions to those pressures.

This conference aims to put forward the international pedagogy and education practices being applied at various levels in school. The aim of Compendium is to provide hands on experience on international education practices to delegates and to facilitate the exchange process between the schools of different countries participating.

Content of the conference:

» The Role of Head teacher: New Approaches to School Leadership
» The Role of the School Manager: New Administrative Systems and Processes
» The Role of the Teacher: New Approaches to Curricula, Pedagogy and Assessment
